Senior BBC Correspondent joins Stonehaven
One of the BBC’s most senior journalists, John Moylan, has joined Stonehaven as a Director.
John covered business and economics at the BBC for more than 20 years – a career that spanned the dotcom boom, the financial crisis and a posting as Europe Business Reporter in the BBC’s Brussels Bureau.
Over the past six years as Industry & Employment Correspondent, he led the corporation’s reporting of the energy sector, the steel crisis, the automotive industry and the gig economy.
Bringing a wealth of experience in news and media, John joins Stonehaven to bolster its reputation and media practice. He’ll work alongside fellow Directors Caroline Preston, the ex-head of broadcasting at Downing Street and Ben Thornton, formerly a Partner at Portland.
Stonehaven is a marketing and reputation consultancy set up in 2014 by Peter Lyburn, a former political strategist. The firm builds data-driven campaigns that change corporate reputation, customer behaviours and internal culture. The fast-growing agency recently announced a number of new hires which has taken its total headcount to over 20 consultants.
Upon arrival John Moylan said: “I am delighted to join the most exciting consultancy to emerge in many years. I am looking forward to playing my part in the next stage of the Stonehaven story.”

“Stonehaven uses data and insight to change businesses, build strategic reputation, stakeholder and customer campaigns. This approach allows us to set long-term, strategic goals with our clients. John’s experience builds upon our capabilities to both advise clients and execute campaigns.”
