STONEHAVEN EXPANDS WITH SEVEN NEW HIRES
Following six months of rapid growth since January, marketing and reputation consultancy Stonehaven has announced seven new hires.
Founded by former political strategist Peter Lyburn in 2014, Stonehaven consults with clients to deliver operational change and integrated communication campaigns that improve reputations and influence consumer choices.
Stonehaven consults with clients using unique insight into how perceptions are formed and choices are made, and builds long-term value by helping organisations put reputation at the heart of what they do. Clients include Heathrow Airport, where the consultancy is retained to advise the hub airport on its expansion communications campaign.
The seven new consultants bring a wealth of experience from strategic communications, as well as government and political campaigns. They include:
JENNY RUNNACLES joins Stonehaven from Cohn & Wolfe where she led major account Asia Pulp & Paper, and worked on campaigns for the Barclays CEO. She was named in PR Week’s 30 under 30 in 2016 and won bronze in the 2015 Cannes Young Lions UK competition for creativity. Jenny joins Stonehaven as an Associate Director.
DAVID GODFREY joins from Teneo Blue Rubicon as an Associate Director. With a decade of campaigning experience, David has worked with brands including RBS, Ford, Coca-Cola, Aviva and The Premier League. Between 2013 and 2015, David worked in Qatar leading a global team managing communications for the Organising Committee of the 2022 World Cup.
NICK VARLEY is an experienced campaigner for corporate clients and has worked on multiple elections. Formerly Head of Ground Campaigns for Vote Leave, where he led a team of over 45 staff operating across the country, Nick has also worked internationally, including in the Caribbean and Africa. Nick joins Stonehaven as an Associate Director.
CHARLES OGILVIE joins as a Senior Policy Adviser with over a decade of experience working in policy, regulation and change management. He specialises in the utility, infrastructure and technology sectors and has worked with international businesses including GE, Serco, Vattenfall, Babcock, Clarksons, Johnson Matthey and Inmarsat.
ADAM McNICHOLAS joins Stonehaven as an Account Director with vast experience in political campaign messaging and communications. He is a former political adviser to former shadow secretaries of state in the Labour Party and has worked extensively in audience-targeted digital communications.
TOM HARVESON is formerly of Teneo Blue Rubicon and joins Stonehaven as an Account Director. With nearly a decade’s experience across a range of sectors, Tom has worked with global brands such as Facebook, Instagram and Unilever to develop targeted messaging and execute large-scale integrated campaigns.
RHIANNON PADLEY joins Stonehaven as an Account Manager. She brings a keen understanding of the political world having spent a number of years working in Westminster. She has provided support on campaigns including securing the UK Steel Industry in a time of crisis, planning legislation and building links between decision makers and businesses. She has delivered on a number of successful campaigns, including the re-election of Priti Patel MP in 2015 and as part of the ‘Leave’ campaign during the EU Referendum.
Stonehaven's London office, which has tripled in size over the last year, now totals more than 20 consultants. The additions follow several recent senior hires, including former Head of Broadcasting for Prime Minister David Cameron, Caroline Preston MBE, and former Portland Partner, Ben Thornton.
PETER LYBURN, Founder of Stonehaven, said: “Our growth is being driven by client demand for a new approach which is grounded in unique insight and is strategic, but hands on and practical. Our clients want a stronger evidence base to build campaigns that change behaviours, not just headlines."
"We all have big ambitions for Stonehaven and this is just the latest step in our work to challenge the current approach to communications.”
